Sounds like Microsoft's protecting their top-level game turf through low-level, chip patents. Clever. Probably enables MS to block and tackle the game maker, as well as possibly block and tackle anyone Intel supplies to that MS doesn't like, without Intel being able to resist it. Smart. Gives MS some control over a situation they had no control over, without negatively impacting Intel. Win/win for both.
