I was listening to a local call-in show this weekend. Since this is the DC area, quite a few people called in about what to do with their federal retirement fund. July 15th is this month's cutoff date for specifying fund transfers. Without exception, the host was telling everyone to go into the cash fund. I don't know if the host took into consideration that the federal funds don't actually transfer the funds till the end of the month. I didn't catch the entire show but he had mentioned the possibility of a meltdown.
