The same way something as seemingly incomprehensible as McCarthyism in the 50s was explained to me (or even "free love" in the 60s). My 100 year old grandmother-in-law described the changes she saw in a century of living before she passed away (one year ago this week): "things change drastically on the surface, but deep down, they don't change as much as you think." We all look back at past generations and scratch our head about one thing or another. Always have, and 20 years from now, no doubt still will. But we move on. . . adjust. . . re-allocate our personal resources. That said, I just hope my 92 Accord keeps running. . . .
