You are right that I am too young to have watched that scenario play out, assuming anyone could have appreciated the fullness of it on a ten inch Philco. I do remember the Murrow show but I don't know if I saw that episode live or not. I can't believe that I'm lying here reading the McCarthy rebuttal at six on a Monday morning. I am hearing geese, too. Strange morning. The guy gives me the creeps. Has from my earliest recollections. I will have to ask my father about him. I don't recall him ever speaking of it.
