It does, though, make one wonder if there is no more serious issue of discrimination facing American women simmering somewhere. It would be lovely if there weren't, but one suspects that there just might be.

There are lotsa women. Lotsa blacks. Lotsa Jews. Etc. Plenty of citizens to pay attention to a variety of forms of discrimination.

Some of them care about discrimination on the golf course and some don't. The ones that don't will be working on some other, more serious issue, maybe; or, more likely, they'll be watching TV. The ones that do will spend a little time calling and writing a few sponsors, trying to get some of the players to boycott, lining up some alternative courses that don't discriminate. It won't be a huge expenditure of time, this campaign, I suspect. And the golfing social set probably has quite a few women with time on their hands who are seeking a Cause. I wouldn't stick my tongue out at them if i were you!

Speaking of watching TV, there's a newish show on NBC, Crime and Punishment, that I really like. Takes a real case through from start to verdict. Some episodes are better than others. It's on Sunday night from 10 to 11 EST. I'm not really telling you, I just thought of mentioning it in general.
