InVision wins $106.8 million bomb detection order, ho-humm>>

NEWARK, Calif. July 17 (Reuters) - InVision Technologies Inc. (NasdaqNM:INVN - News), which makes bomb-detecting equipment, on Wednesday said it won a $106.8 million order from the U.S. Transportation Security Administration, cashing in on increasing demand for more secure airports.

The company, whose shares are up a whopping 759 percent since the Sept. 11 attacks to the United States, plans to deliver 50 explosive detection systems to the TSA and parts to build 50 more systems.

Ever since the attacks, the screening of bags and passengers at major airports has become vital as authorities try to prevent more incidents such as those on the Sept. 11, when hijackers on board jetliners destroyed the World Trade Center in New York and part of the Pentagon in Washington.
