I would still vote for Powell, depending on who the opposition in the Republican party is. The democrats have nobody. Not even close. They haven't had anybody since Jimmy Carter, and he made some pretty dumb mistakes although he should have got the Nobel instead of Begin and Sadat.

Dave, I dont disagree with you, but from what I understand, SecState Powell is prochoice and supports affirmative action. I think that makes it unlikely that he will be included on any GOP ticket.
