If you are talking about policy ideas none of the candidates with any chance of winning (even if you count Nader and McCain as having had a reasonable chance of winning) are as close to my viewpoint as Bush, even if he has disappointed me on trade and restraining spending.

In terms of character and personal history the only candidate (from that election) I see that might have a better track record is McCain. Well maybe Nader, but I haven't looked to see if he has any skeletons in his closet. But McCain in my opinion is attacking our first amendment rights and Nader is further away from my political ideas then Gore.

If for some reason I wasn't allowed to vote for Bush in the last general election I might have voted for Harry Brown, but I have problems with some ideas. Probably at least as much as I have problems with Bush's ideas, and in any case he got less support then Nader and had just about 0% chance of becoming president.
