To: Sully- who wrote (15606 ) 7/16/2002 2:26:45 AM From: elpolvo Read Replies (2) | Respond to of 104155 Ö¿Ö © ® ™ ster- thanks. some good stuff. especially the poetry. did you write those? it doesn't matter, you posted them so i take them as your expression. i hear you. >>>"visualize my hand"I think you are #1 too :-\ good guess... but ya missed it by one. i'm an old hippie -- 'twas a two-fingered peace sign. i notice young people (adolescents and pre-adolescents) using it lately. i like that. btw... i don't worship bill clinton. i was very dissapointed in his bald face lie to us about his relationship with monica. it hurt his credibility something awful. what amazes me about him is his depth of understanding of so many of the complex issues that a head of state must deal with and his ability to articulate, explain and decide on a plan of action that almost always is in accord with my views that we are all one family, interrelated and interdependent and we must all work together and help each other grow even though we disagree and see reality from differing points of view. i'm not blind to the fact that he constantly "plays" politics. politics is a game that involves daily compromise of what most of us as individuals consider uncompromiseble principles. but what is the alternative? jimmy carter was an example. impotence in office. although william played the political game, i don't think he ever lost sight of the grander vision of a better world for all. he never WAS, or COULD EVER be, "bought" when it came down to that higher principle. i've seen other presidents so uncompromising on "personal" principles that they cheated themselves and the world out of the opportunity to advance the higher good for all... again, jimmy carter, whom i dearly love as a personal role model, comes to mind. i'm sure that i, personally, would be no more effective than carter because there are some deals i won't make. the more we moralize the less effective we are at advancing the growth of ALL because our morals are just points of view that we call personal principles. we'll never ALL agree on individual principles and morals but perhaps one day we'll recognize how important it is to allow each other our differing views in respect of the natural fact that we are all one family, interrelated and interdependent and that we must all work together to help each other and all life on this planet grow.
