Currently backing off resistance at its 50-day simple moving average of 14.99. To the downside, look for initial support at 14.75 followed by a more significant floor at 14.50. If it should break above 15.00, look for additional overhead at 15.20 followed by subsequent resistance at 15.80. 10:36AM Intersil falls on Proxim, PC-related weakness (ISIL) 21.56 -1.03: Shares of ISIL are conspicuously weak today in a strong tech mkt; we're hearing two things could account for the weakness: 1) talk that PROX indicated they bought 802.11b chipsets from AGR.A, instead of their usual supplier ISIL, and 2) a pre-open note from Lehman, which said that PC-related weakness could impact ISIL's top line, although the co should maintain earnings guidance and see a strong wireless LAN biz. 10:27AM Nasdaq fails initial test of resistance at 1420 to 1423 : -- Technical -- Index remains solidly higher on notably bullish internals -- advancing volume outpaces declining volume by a margin of 9 to 1. Nonetheless, the index has failed with its initial test of resistance at 1420 to 1423 which approximates the reaction lows going back to September 2001 and October 1998. Note that 1423 also represents the index' 20-day exponential moving average.
