LOL!!! Idiotic fiction. The maroon is mixing up focusing range and zooming range. Here are the facts:

Lens: LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMICRON 7-21mm f/2-2,5 ASPH. (corresponds to a 33 - 100 mm zoom lens on a 35 mm camera)    

Near focus range: 30 cm / 12 in in the Macro-mode; 6 cm (23/8 in) with the wide-angle setting ;20 cm (77/8 in) with the Telephoto setting
