NG, Re: <Not so fast, TGPTNDR>

It's going to be interesting to see if Intel has that 'old black magic' still in their bag of tricks.

I put 'em down for $0.00 in earnings this Q. You put 'em in for -$0.07 if memory serves.

From my point of view Intel's announced earnings have had so little to do with any kind of reality for so long that I consider them to be little more than an indicator of breeze direction in the corporate offices.

But I couldn't bring myself to go below Zero. I think they've got fudge they haven't cooked yet.

From the 1Q 10Q -- Net operating results decreased by $49 million to a loss of $68 million in Q1 2002 from a loss of $19 million in Q1 2001, primarily due to lower revenue from sales of flash memory products, partially offset by the impact of lower inventory writedowns in Q1 2002 compared to higher-than-normal writedowns in Q1 2001 and lower start-up manufacturing costs in Q1 2002 related to flash memory products.

Now... if we were talking about stockholder equity per share... I'd say they're going to lose a lot more than your ($0.07) entry.

It all depends on how they cook the fudge.
