Yeah, but who heard of swing trading back then (1972-82)? I was mainly in suspended animation waiting for the tone of the market to improve.

My first short play was not until '83 or '84 as I made a notorious bet against Home Depot at a split adjusted price of about 50 cents a share, which I thought was just astronomical for an oversized hardware store. <g> I managed to barely get out at a small profit, but learned a powerful survival lesson about going against the grain too early when the stock is a "darling".
