Re: $300 (family health care mo premiums)

Where can you get good family health care coverage for $300/month? I live in a relatively low-cost area (Midwest), and it's more like $600-$700/month for a PPO (HMO - no thanks).

I took Intel's VSP offer last July, and it certainly wasn't a slow process. Also, I don't think VSP would be offered to 10,000 employees - more likely several thousand at the most.

I believe the main advantage of a VSP vs. layoffs is the potential for litigation by angry employees. Settling lawsuits by disgruntled employees could easily be more expensive than the VSP costs. At a former employer there were many lawsuits by 40ish people who were laid off and claimed age discrimination.
