Good comments 5,000 Israelis have been killed or seriously injured by "Palestinian" violence during the last 18 months. That would be the equivalent of 300,000 casualties in the US, or 100 attacks on the World Trade Center. Imagine Sept. 11 occuring once every five days for 18 months. The restraint of the Israeli people is quite remarkable, given that they are surrounding by barbarians who are obsessed with Israel's destruction.

Groups throughout the Moslem world in the Middle East have made it very clear they seek the extermination of Israel and Jews. And these are not notably fringe elements of their societies. The entire Arab world has endorsed the internationally recognized solution to the conflict - UN 242. They have all offered Israel full recognition and peace guarantees, in exchange for Israel obeying international law. Israel refuses to even acknowledge international law and these peace treaties. When the PA saw that it would not get all that it sought through negotiations with the Barak government, it quite consciously unleased the "forces of jihad" to murder Israelis and destroy their society. I'm not sure what you are talking about. It was Israel that kicked off the Intifada in September 2000, when Ariel Sharon went to the Islamic holy site with 1000 troops, and then the next day his troops began to fire on unarmed demonstrators. After several months of this, the suicide bombings began. Sharon wanted to derail the peace process and get himself elected. He succeeded.
