10:39 ET GM General Motors: cautious comments by Goldman Sachs (46.00 -1.92)
Goldman Sachs says that any upside resulting from GM's positive pension numbers would likely be brief when today's weaker than expected earnings are combined with likely further deterioration in pricing and questions on sustainability of demand; also, GM's modest earnings make firm even more concerned about rival F (-2.8%), since if GM could only muster these numbers, F's Q2 numbers due tomorrow are likely to appear even more disappointing
