There is plenty of blame to go around.

We have different views on this though. Where you think that they should have prevented it, it is my opinion that they *created* it.

You and I are the proverbial J6P investor. We don't make the waves in the market, we merely surf on the waves that are made by the Greenspans, Chambers, Gates, Ebbers, Clintons, Bushs and Blodgetts of the world. We are responsible for what happens in our lives and have to take responsibility for any losses or gains that we make in the market. But I don't believe that, I as a J6P, have to take the blame for what happened in your trading account. Greenspan does because he is a player. He is a veritable Hurricane Alan and he creates HUGE waves for us little surfers to ride on. But I agree, he doesn't get all of the blame....just a huge portion considering that he is a one man that is in control of a huge part of our economy. And that is part of the deal. Back in 1999 and 2000 he was nearly deified. And I was right there giving him accolades. But when one person puts themselves in the position of being deified, there is that risk of being demonized. He selected that path. Falling off of pedestals is a bitch.
