Unfortunatly brokers are getting sued for making calls and being wrong, I think that's the position that TD didn't want to get in by posting on SI. But he DID express a very high amount of concern at the time (March/April).

I believe that Tammy Derosier was the other DWA concerned for the market at the time, she is very sharp.

The woman that you are thinking of is Ms. X. She is a friend to many on SI, though she doesn't post here anymore. The alerts that you are talking about happened on DWA's site and were for nazdaq stocks only. Further, the warnings were based on new indicators that were not available to the standard subscriber. The haranguing that you mention wasn't because DWA wasn't totally right in their call, it was because TD came to the thread and claimed that once again P&F saved the day. I was a pretty experienced "by the book" piffer by 2000 and I was following the method in a pretty rigid manner. So while DWA was claiming victory, many of us who were using the charts in a manner that was consistent to what was in "the book" and we got toasted. I wrote a pretty harsh message to TD when he came on the thread in mid april to announce that P&F had saved the day. I later had it deleted, but it essentially covers what I said above. TD was criticized because he or P&F was wrong, it was because he came to the thread touting P&F as saving the day, when in fact it hadn't for many people who were steadfast in following it by the prescribed technique.

As far as giving him another chance. It was his decision to leave. I suspect that retail investors don't hold much interest to him at this point. More of a pain in the ass than anything. Although there are a number of people here who still use his charting services.

I will point out that TD stayed on SI for some months after that and we remained cordial throughout.
