Below is an article exposing the predicament of Israel's military establishment --namely, the IDF's historical irrelevance (as far as geographic expansion is concerned). Indeed, IDF boss Ya'alon's reference to the Lebanon pullback hints at a painful irony for Israeli generals: most, if not all, of their territorial conquests eventually were/will be given back to the Arabs.... The Sinai, Lebanon, the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and possibly, the Golan. All that Israeli blood shed for nothing. Ultimately, Israel's borders are drawn and re-drawn by diplomats and power brokers from the world's major powers --not by IDF officers using their relief maps... A surreptitious crack in the iconic status of "Zahal".
