Mike, You still haven't made a peep about the rudeness of paul_philips post which started all this. Not true. I wrote that his post to John "was clearly out of character." In the context of all of Paul's other posts, I felt and still feel that gives appropriate weight to the degree of his transgression. And I object strongly to the appropriateness of concluding that Paul or anyone started anything. We're not kids in a sandbox pointing fingers at each other, telling Mommy and Daddy that "He started it!" The strongest case you made for Shannon's posts is that you can "appreciate negativism on this thread when carried out with intellectual integrity." Since you brought up the issue of integrity, notice that Paul has now apologized. That's personal integrity -- the most important kind. He wrote one post that you feel bad about and took a moment to offer an unqualified apology. Of all the outrageously rude posts Shannon has written that motivated you to put him on "ignore," when was the last time you saw that kind of apology coming from his keyboard? Don't tell me about it. Please show it to me. I'll put him temporarily on "unignore" to read it. Until then, I'll pass on using the word "integrity" in association with any of his posts. --Mike Buckley
