It does look like GS knows something's going to not show up in the next audit, and this is the way they choose to handle it. What would you prefer? That they spill the beans now? The CIT spinoff was the "right" thing to do for the company and CIT management. TYC does have some wiggle room, but GS can now get its clients and managed money out of TYC or perhaps hedge in other ways. They's look awfully incompetent next Wednesday if the stock breaks 8.25. IMO.

a month from now - Goldman's actions w/be a non-event

- in fact - on Tues of next week when Tyc meets or beats expectations - i think stock price w/ react nicely

10:53AM Tyco getting hit again (TYC) 11.50 -1.31: -- Update -- Stock weak despite the strong
tape, prompting much speculation about the reason for the selling; we're not hearing of any one
specific factor, but some of the speculation includes: followthrough selling after Goldman's cautious
comments yesterday, unconfirmed talk of a 10 mln block for sale, and general talk about executive
departures and accounting concerns.
