they are reaching 'terminal' velocity at this point
will be interesting to see what if any collateral damage there is in Providian, Household, and Americredit (the other sub-prime lenders). and keep your eyes on retailers that are really less-than-prime lenders in drag, like Sears, Circuit City, CarMax and Rent-A-Center.

capital markets doors are quickly closing along the periphery of the risk spectrum. it will be interesting to see how far reaching the credit contraction becomes.

think of the opening credits on 'Get Smart' for a good visual of what's going on in the consumer credit markets these days.
