No, Zonealarm stays on all your machines. The router will most likely also have a NAT firewall which will limit intrusions to zip. ZA stops ping attempts, but not much else gets through.

Louis brings up an interesting idea, IMO, if you are not positive your dual source router is a proven device. Their are lots of great routers out there for under $100 and you could buy two of these and put them by your trading station. Connect one to cable and one to dsl. Plug your trading station into the dsl modem and everybody else's into the cable. If your dsl acts up, you just pull the JN5 wire out of the dsl modem and stick it into the cable router. Depending on your OS, you may have to reboot the computer which can be a pain, but this KISS approach is worth keeping in mind if the fancy dual source modem runs into snags.

BTW, please post again which modem you are thinking of using. I'd like to look at the specs.
