Greenspan: More Restatements Seen

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan said on Wednesday he expects more companies to lower their earnings ahead in response to a Securities and Exchange Commission initiative.

"I do believe there are going to be significant re-statements and ... the number that are going to be re-stated up won't take you very long to read," Greenspan said during an appearance before the House Financial Services Committee.

However, Greenspan said he was not "terribly concerned" about the impact of those re-statements because he said it would show that companies' attempts to "manage" their earnings were on the wane.
