Wouldn't it be absolutely perverse if - after training us so many times that gaps down on bad INTC news should be bought hard - that the market players all figured out that they should just buy the open on bad INTC news. Then, we'd get a gap 'n crap - just the reverse of what has happened so many times in the past couple of years. A "negative" event becomes so anticipated that you get a response you'd usually associate with a positive news story that gets sold. So, in reverse-reverse psychology, the market would actually <gulp> go *down* on bad news again!

And people wonder why the markets fascinate me so...
