TYC is suffering from the rumor mill. You are correct that new buyers will probably be inhibited.

OTOH, my best PE and dividend stocks like NFI continue to sell off despite confirmed forward guidance. All I can figure is that mutual fund redemptions are forcing blind selling by the institutions.

I am not selling anything, in fact I added more NFI just over 23. Time will tell if our value-mad stubborness pays off.

The TYC drop today raises an interesting question for the thread: risk vs. value. If a value stock is surrounded by controversy that can move the stock a lot (even if it's just a rumor) should you discount the appeal of the assets?

I always associate value investing with a certain level of relative safety that stories like TYC don't offer.
