Don't know that you'll get much of a reaction to your bait.

"I do have a question for an astute fellow such as yourself: would the farm welfare bill have passed in substantially
the same form with Democrats, or would there have been some major changes? And, wasn't there something about
outrageous milk subsidies promised by the Dems to get Jeffords to switch loin-cloths?"

The Repubs led the charge this time around, but the Dems were right there slavering at their heels seeing who could take credit for the most moola. They just can't let go of that tar baby. Which is just one reason I am not a member of either party. But I do vote. Just hard to find a candidate. Actually, I'm sorry to see Jesse go, and I like McCain, although the right wingers are more visceral and vicious in their attacks on him than they are on any liberal I can think of.
