As I remember, WorldCom didn't warn either. I wonder if Beatty, the new CFO, is a sacrificial lamb and will fall on his sword when (lack of) earnings are announced tomorrow afternoon. I have been thinking of buying some for a quick pop, but haven't pulled the trigger, yet. Part of my thinking is the hit the stock takes by getting dropped from the S&P 500. S&P has an historical study on what happens on their website. Unfortunately, getting dropped comes on the day after their results are announced, which could really cloud the issue. Tomorrow and Friday should be interesting for Nortel.
