Bob, B.K.,
I think I've got plenty of RAM - 512MB from Crucial, so I don't think it's a RAM problem. I'm going to try B.K.'s suggestion to boot up in DOS and play with the autoexec & configsys files; I still have an old DOS & Win3.11 manual I got with my old Zeos box so I can look up what to do in DOS. Due to the sporadic nature of the problem - once every 24-36 hours on average, I think running in protected mode may not be very productive, since this is the only active machine in this house. Got rid of Fast Find - no change but it's an unnecessary piece of Gatesware. I'm still waiting for a response from Godo- Highpoint, but the more I think about it, the more I see it as a suspect.
Thanks for the replies.
