Wow - AMD's real loss was $301,294,000 - before the US taxpayers kicked in $128,000,000 in welfare benefits to make AMD's loss a little less disastrous,

My first reaction to the report is that I expected worse (as my contest entry indicates). I expected losses to be bigger, some $250M.

This could be the bottom, since flash is picking up, and the excesses of channel stuffing in Q1 have been most likely digested, and it doesn't look like that there were any last minute deals in Q2 (since the guidance dropped after last 2 weeks of the quarter).

What causes me concern are the cash obligations for FASL and soon, for the UMC joint venture. I hope there will be some breakdown between Dresden + Austin and FASL + UMC during the CC, and what to expect in the near future.

Unfortunately, I have no audio where I am. Can somebody post highlights as the CC as it progresses? TIA

Joe
