Apparently no one is in the mood for what is usually Tom Seibel's honesty. Wish I caught the call. He's typically pretty straight-up.

lot of Siebel business comes from financial companies; banks, brokerage, insurance, credit cards. i don't recall the exact % (they probably gave it on the call) but if memory serves its near 30% now (since telecom which once was a big consumer of Siebel call center software now in the crapper). the layoffs at fin services companies are just starting, and their businesses are just starting to come under pressure. this is likely what Tom Siebel sees as he is giving guidance.

btw, i'm pretty sure that overall financial services is the #1 consumer of software generally. ain't good for software companies overall if this group starts to pull in their horns as well.
