Interesting read...I will say for the first time in my illustrious career, I am actually looking at Public Sector jobs -- if they'll have me :( ...the software industry is tanking...

jobless AND profitless recovery will soon turn down
economists simply miss it, period

if capex spending remains poor, expect recession soon
no way out

I hear over and over that as long as people have incomes,
they will spend on a continual basis
not so
I am affected by my neighbors and my friends
a couple of them are in trouble
it affects me and my spending

as job security erodes on a widespread basis, whether an individual is laid off personally or not, that will not matter
we have eyes to observe
the threat of lost jobs will sadly lead to real lost jobs
from the upcoming cutbacks in consumer spending

also, the asymmetric wealth effect calls for people to spend less as their mutual funds and pensions are losing money

we are an aging society, approaching retirement
in my sports club on Monday, a gang was watching CNBC
my roommate heard several utterances...
"I will never be able to retire"

these people will spend less, save more
we are a debtor nation swimming in a sea of debt
while we face a debt meltdown
