Diamonds North has started a field program to evaluate a series of land-based magnetic anomalies on Misty Lake claims. The program is designed to select targets for a possible drill program in September, 2002. The 71,000-acre property in the Northwest Territories is located immediately south of the Mountain province DeBeers Kennady Lake diamond project with an estimated in situ diamond value of nearly $3-billion. On the Gten claims, a high-resolution airborne magnetic survey has been completed. Final data for the survey are expected within a week, at which time anomalies will be selected for an anticipated drill program in October. Snowfield Resources holds the option to earn a 50-per-cent interest in the 2,169-acre property, located 80 kilometres southeast of Yellowknife, NWT, near the Drybones kimberlite. The Drybones kimberlite is one of the largest-known kimberlite pipes in the Slave province and the only known pipe in the Drybones Bay region. Kimberlite pipes generally occur in clusters and it is likely that other kimberlites exist in the area. Diamonds North continues to explore on its Victoria Island projects in Nunavut and the Northwest Territories.
