Petz,

I have to assume that some capital spending from prior quarters came online during Q2, causing PPE to rise.

This would mean that equipment, between the time it was purchased and the time it is put into productive use is in a limbo, and it disappears from the balance sheet. I think there has to be another explanation.

John Re...AMD says its PPE is worth more now than it was 3 months ago, to the tune of $165M<

Part of that may be due to the loan payment for Dresden, which would have reduced liabilities by 100 mil. Part of this would have been offset by depreciation, but likely not all of it.
