Lizzie, Did you listen to the Siebel call? Bizarro. My take: "Political considerations" compel me to tell you that I cannot see any recovery in business for the rest of the year (even though we have no natural enemies, and product penetration is 1 or 2%) because I cannot stand to look those 1,100 employees we will be letting go in the eye if I have to admit that there's a chance business won't stay totally in the dumps for the rest of 2002. However I have to let them go in order to reinstitute merit increases and bonuses to the remaining staff before they fly out the door for greener pastures because business is getting better elsewhere and hiring is bound to increase.
