Not sure what you mean..."republican"..Actually, the drug situation is a National "situation" that ALL of us must start facing, no matter which party we tend to glide to.....

People on drugs, depending on the type and amount, not only endanger themselves, but endanger their community, with car accidents, robberies, murder, etc...

Some drugs can just make you stupid....unless you are one of the 1 in 10 that are addicted.

Some drugs can cause everyone, including the person using the drug, a good deal of harm.

One of the things I think might help is EDUCATE the entire population of the US to the actual dangers of drugs, and particularly to the addicted person, and the results of his/her addiction. Jeb Bush's daughter is an adult. Unfortunately, parents can not control what an adult child does or does not do. Hopefully, when she was younger (under 18) when they did have some control, she was able to go to rehab and gain some understanding of her disease.

If you are really interested in how drugs and the misuse of drugs can affect and effect everyone around the person using, Larry King interviewed Barbara Eden on Jan 1, 2002...Regarding the addiction and death of her son Mathew.
IMO, everyone in the country should read this transcript, and give it to their children who even think they want to try drugs.

So veryyyyy sad!!!
