Low-Yield Earth-Penetrating Nuclear Weapons

I can't believe we would ever use one. We are getting so good with high-penetration large bombs that we can take out just about any underground site we know of.

Saddam knows this, of course and is putting his labs under Hospitals. A good "Thriller" on this was just published, called "Black Storm," by David Poyer. It is the tale of a "special Ops" team sent into Iraq during the Gulf war to find and take out precisely such a site.

Interesting, but my idea of going nuclear against biologicals was that the intense heat and explosion would kill all the germs and not spread them.
