That's too bad. I've heard British schools are very good. Hope things work out for you.

We've been pretty lucky because my oldest qualified for all the gifted programs in our area. They call them Agate, Venture and Montessori. Since we had our choice, we accepted the Montessori school because it grand-fathered all his siblings in for the first year. It's a very good school, with caring, dedicated teachers. They do get a lot of help from the parents though. Parents are required to spend at least one day a week in class to be part of the program.

Pretty funny seeing 1st graders get so much homework. I don't remember having homework until about the 5th grade.

As a society, we really need to shake up the public education establishment and give power and authority back to local teachers. It should be our number one priority behind fighting terrorism.
