Did you ever see George C. Scott in the Flim-Flam Man? His specialty was in ripping off the ripoffs. Pretty entertaining film from the mid 70s. As far as predictability of flawed human nature... don't know how to take advantage of that one, except by being a contrarian perhaps because the herd does get greedy and blind at times.

When I read about the locusts or grasshoppers wiping out crops (and their own food supply in the process), I can't help but think of humanity on a global scale doing the same thing -- just a grander field with more diverse crops with a much slower but equally predictable process outcome -- hopefully at least a couple hundred years out.
