I agree with the sentiment but its not a case of being completely free and then giving up our freedom. We for from being partially unfree to being perhaps just slightly more unfree. Maybe on a scale from 0 to 100, where 100 is an anarchy that somehow actually works (we can ignore that its impossible for now) and 0 is where even our thoughts our controlled by the government (hopefully impossible as well) , we might be going from 82 to 79. I can understand not wanting to give up even that much. And when we get down to specifics I might agree with you that some or even many of the measures being proposed are not good ideas, but I don't view them as amounting to giving up our freedom.

You know it feels really weird for me to be posting to you, and essentially saying "things are not so black and white".
