Bocor - Thanks, I think most of us have seen that and a number of other references to the PPT's existence before. However, I'm not aware of any proof of their actual intervention in the US equity market, not even in 1998.

AFAIK claims of a PPT presence are all anecdotal and based upon individual intepretations of the sudden appearance of unusual price support at critical junctures.

OTOH if this selling keeps up today and panic sets in over the weekend, the PPT (if there is one) may soon find it necessary to come out from behind the curtain. Either that or change their name to the Working Group on Post-Crash Environments.
