For a Deist, he sure said some strange things. Such as when one of his first essays was read aloud to the colonial army. In it he wrote: Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered.."..

wonder why a deist would be thinking of hell?

and again he wrote: " Yet that we may not appear to be defective even in earthly honors, let a day be solemnly set apart for proclaiming the charter; let it be placed on the divine law, the Word of God; let a crown be placed thereon"...

why does a deist talk of the divine Word of God? DO you know what that is? It is called the Holy Bible....
