Re: Intel should use a PR rating for Bananas. If they don't I can't wait to see their marketing scheme

Yes, they'll be in something of a pickle. Their marketing has been focused on the notion that mhz is all that matters in performance, and now they'll have to introduce a new line of chips, the fastest of which is slower than the slowest of their current chips.

If they start marketing performance instead of mhz, they put their whole business model at risk and practically market Hammer for AMD.

If they don't start discriminating between mhz and performance, they'll risk their mobile business, which probably provides almost as much profit as their desktop business (though a lot fewer units).

What to do... What to do?

McMannis, Re: "Intel should use a PR rating for Bananas."

What would that be like? Would they use higher numbers as the fruit ripens, or would they base it off of size? Is the new McMannis mantra called "Size Matters"?

P.S. It sounds like Intel is in for some stiff competition from Chiquita.

Jim:

Looks like Nas wants to test that long term trend line (1280 to 1300) which includes the '74 lows and the mideast war...(I don't want to see it drop thru that support!!!)
