I read an account of a lawyer admonished by his law society for lack of a better word fornicating with his secretary in a court house closet. The law society said the two carried on in "full view of the robes" as if it was a criminal act in front of court robes but in a seedy motel would have been ok. I have no idea why your banter with X reminded me of this story.

They are not equal because in one case you are imposing your religion, in the other you are refraining from oposing religion, any religion, or belief (except the belief that the government should not impose any belief)- if you made religious people recite some pledge that said there was no God, THEN you would be imposing religion. Perhaps you will see it now. Or not.
