re: <<the first generation or two of AMD's 0.13 output might have had extremely low yields or a circuit design problem.>>

<but Jerry told us AMD has "the BEST yields in the world">

Jerry would still not be lying if it were a circuit design/layout problem, or a process problem that was already fixed. I suspect it was a layout problem caused by moving the L2 cache, if you want my opinion.

AMD's yields must have improved from a year ago because units should be nearly flat year over year in Q4, but they'll do it with one fab instead of two, and that fab is running 2 processes -- 0.13, 0.13 SOI.

RE:"Well John we know this can't be true because Jerry told us AMD has "the BEST yields in the world". Not just good yields but the BEST. You know Jerry is an honest man and I know Jerry is an honest man so why would you even suggest such a thing?"

I thought he said "world class yields"?

at low bins they probably are.

Elmer,

There is no need to be a jerk about it. Jerry has said many things and if you believe what Jerry says, well....

You complete the sentence.
