Not good news, but Elmer's endless ranting about yields when AMD is outproducing demand to the point that they have to take product back from the channel is over-the-top ridiculous.

Hence my over-the-top response.

Whatever AMD's statistical yields may be, they are doing a better job supplying high end parts than Intel (at least, as far as can be determined by us outsiders - if you have a better information source than pricewatch listings, please point the rest of us to it).

I find it highly unlikely that AMD is having any yield problems when they can produce much more than they can sell from one FAB, when their volume is down 20% or so from where it was when they were supplying the market from 2 FABS.
