I followed this (3 1/2 to 4 yr) cycle back in the 1960's and it had some merit and usefulness .
Far more useful than saying we have another 1929 or 1987 or similar situation.
Should bottom out sometime in late 2002, although there is a lot going on that may make a bottom hard to find.
Political parties trashing each other for the elections , possible war with Irag, terrorists, and crooked CEO's
Those things are unpredictable and can hurt the market temporarily, but they have occurred in the past and the cycles are still apparent.
I plan to stay loose until the Fall, maybe put in some GTC buy orders way down to catch a Cien, where some kid on the Web or elsewhere starts a false rumor of a CFO leaving town.
