I think Ann "Thrax" is a conscient effort on the part of the right wing to gain publicity for extreme statements. This makes their ultra-conservative statements sound "reasonable" by comparison. That's why they continue to fund her ranting.

I saw that interview. Jon Stewart did give her a nice thrashing. Bill O'Reilly, on the other hand, staged a wonderfully weak argument with her to demonstrate her greatness.

I flipped through her book last night. It has a lot of interesting anecdotal info, but she completely disqualifies herself from making any judgement on this very subjective topic by flaunting her bias. For example, George Ball thought Reagan shouldn't run for a second term because of the threat of senility. She ridicules him, but does not mention the fact that senility most likely did set in before Reagan left office. She ridicules someone for claiming Cuba has a good health care system. I'm not sure if she was consciously lying, or is so brainwashed by the right-wing media that she is unaware that Cuba does have a good health care system. She trashes FAIR for pointing out that the networks favored Republican and conservative guests heavily last year. Her reason? That Republicans and conservatives are in power. FAIR explicitly stated that their findings do not show conservative bias, but simply show subservience to state power. She omits that, no doubt intentionally.

And here's another example of her dishonesty:
