Been using both for years, own both, do my own maintenence on both

then you need to figure out what is wrong with your Mac, because i DO KNOW BOTH MACHINES, and a Mac with the correct amount of memory never crashes as often as you claim.... EVER.... it's hard drive never has to be reformated... EVER... as a matter of fact i have a machine that is more than 7 years old that has NEVER had to have it's hard drive reformated or the system reinstalled..... and it was used Eight days a week, 25 hrs a day.... if you get my drift.....

a Mac never EVER needs NORTON as a matter of fact NORTON is more likely your whole reason for crashes...... it is more like a VIRUS then something useful on a MAC.....

the first thing you need to do if you are not using OSX, is take off every third party extension that you don't use, and that Means Norton, and MSFT extensions.... both of which are more like Viruses than extensions.....

and with the proper amount of Memory, (which is three times as much as what ever figure poped into your head) then you are golden..... (the memory applies to your Wintel machines too)....
