The question I have is how many companies have deals or contracts which stipulate trigger clauses when their common stock declines below a certain level.

From what I understand, these types of deals really accelerated the demise of Enron. I can't believe that other firms don't have similar types of deals.

Of course, if they did, the only way most people learn of them is after the trigger point has been breached and serious problems begin.
